INFO:
When I first started experimenting with textured art, I thought plaster was the magic ingredient. Every tutorial, every supply list—plaster, plaster, plaster. And don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing! But one day, I ran out of it mid-project. So instead of waiting to restock, I grabbed what I had: some leftover modeling paste, a thick acrylic medium, and even a bit of baking soda mixed with paint. The result? A texture I never expected, gritty in some areas, smooth in others, full of depth and character. That’s when I realized: the beauty of textured art isn’t in what you use, but how you use it. Now, I love experimenting with everything from gesso to household items (yes, even tissue paper, spoon, sponges and so on). So if you’re starting out, don’t feel stuck with one material. Try different textures, mix things up, and let the process surprise you!✨ Have you ever used something unexpected in your art? Let me know in the comments!💭
